The houses are set in rolling countryside just to the north of St.Savinien in the Charente Maritime. The region gets as exceptional amount of sunshine comparable to the Med regions but is only four and a half hours drive (244 miles) from the port of St.Malo.
The local town of St.Savinien is 5 minutes away. Built on the banks of the river Charente from which the region takes its name, it has cafes, bars and restaurants, a supermarket and all the local amenities you should require. Its harbour, once used to export brandy, wine, salt, cereals and also the local sandstone is now a popular place for leisure craft and river cruises.
